The PALS program is a small group program for 3-4 year old children with speech-language challenges.
Learning objectives will be tailored to the individual child and may include:
- Improved receptive and/or expressive language skills
- Longer sentence length
- Improved speech sound production
- Improved pre-kindergarten readiness, including pre-literacy and pre- academic skills
- Improved functional communication
PALS is designed specifically to facilitate speech and language skills and school readiness within the classroom setting. We will utilize current evidence-based practices, including Hodson's cycles approach and the SCERTS model (Prizant, Wetherby, Rubin, & Laurent). Additionally, lessons will include consideration to pre-kindergarten TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills) to kindergarten readiness and pre-reading skills, Each class will be taught by a certified speech-language pathologist, and classroom ratio will be no more than 3 children to 1 adult. Class size is limited to 5 children.
